KENT WILLIAMS

Here is one more big news for COMIC-CON!
At Allen Spiegel Fine Art book store(4701), you are able to get new Kent Williams art works book:AMALGAM: PAINTINGS & DRAWINGS, 1992 - 2007
This is the most comprehensive collection of paintings and drawings by Kent Williams to date, all beautifully reproduced in this large 10 x 12 hardcover, with essays by Edward Lucie-Smith (noted art historian and writer on contemporary art) and Julia Morton.
Also available is an extremely limited signed and numbered slipcased edition (just 75 copies) that will include an original tipped in two color lithograph created by Kent Williams especially for the edition, with the 2nd color being painted by hand, thus creating a unique print for each copy of the book.




Seriously, since I saw his book Kent Williams: Drawings & Monotypes almost 10 years ago, I have been trying to check out all his books and exhibitions in Los Angeles.
Kent Williams's art works are exceptional and evolving in every each moments with his all sensitive creativity and absorbency, and when I saw this book, I just couldn't say any words with exhale, no words, just no words. So many, too many of him.
You really need to see and get by yourself, if you love figurative art works of master artists.
In his book AMALGAM, I am able to see his history, emotions, personality, influences, and possibilities, which make me believe, he is the one of artist whose name will be on many thick art history books with real fine artists.

And one more thing I need to say, Kent painted my cats on his painting, because while he painted, he was drinking coffee with my mug, I designed...

SO! I went to my groupshow opening last night, I was sweatty and dizzy with medication and heat, but my loveable friends came to see Sena and me and my artworks!

it is tonight

I am taking antibiotic,,tiny monsters are fighting in my body....feel hot in my head and body,,but I am painting,and some how I feel good.
so anyway, here is the painting for tonight's group show at Nucleus,
title is BRAINOPENER..yes, I had dream I told you....
I went there on Wednesday, and painted around the frame on the wall.
I tried to make it as clean as possible,, but it was pretty hard.... I wish I could use just photoshop to fill in paint in my drawing.
ha ha ha.....well and I put my kichi dude on the wall. I got a one drip on the wall and made me feel like " shoot myself.."
well looks good anyway,, I need more practice.
and I finished hat, which Sena will put on tonight, and my artwork is DONE...at Nucleus only for tonight.
So come to take pictures with Sena and Me!
I hope I can be there 8...pm or so.. Since I know there will be crazy traffic jam on 10fwy......... but I hope I can see my FRIENDS! I will e-mail right now....

"Process" at Nucleus

I have been working on paintings for up coming group shows, and I think I finished the one for "Process" I will have at Nucleus, and Opening reception is on 13th, FRIDAY....dark side of me will be awake on that day.. ha ha ha.....
Yes, I am suppose to be done by now,, well, I was not able to stop myself to make my idea complete.( I never be able to complete anything though I know, but I need to try and I want to try anyway... yes that is how "Process" means to me, I think.)
anyway, I will bring the painting and a doll tomorrow to Nucleus, and paint on the wall a little bit...So this show is a little bit different from other group shows I am in..
I painted about my dream I had,, I was in hospital and checking my brain X-ray picture which has two tiny holes bit by vampire zombie....( I think I want to make a short horror movie based on my dream..does anyone work with me..?)
I wanted to post the painting, but it is still wet, so to let you guess how it looks, I will give you hint.
ok and here is my prince bat and kingyo painting which is in "Back for Seconds" show at Gallery 1988SF(they are available now people!), and this painting is for a children book idea, I am developing now with my sister, and story is about the relationships among environment and kingyo and vampire prince bat. and and, I am trying to finish soon.
I think I really like bat, vampire, zombie and stuff, in many aspects of them. so I want to make something super goood stuff with those characters... I do not know how I can explain, but there are a lot of idea in my brain....
Everything I do with bat, vampires and zombies are related eachother in many ways and I am thinking to develop as a big project...
anyway. hope you get interested in what I did for "Process" show and come to see me at opening..lets have some blood with me.
